What a great piece to start this blog! It show what can be done in the studio workshop where the production options are not dictated by the equipment on hand. The design is from the Shareen Joel Design studio, and came to us after a number of mainstream makers came to the conclusion that it was not viable in solid timber. This gave us the opportunity to exploit our experience with sawn veneers - in this case 2mm eucalypt over hollow core components. The result is a great example of the coming together of the uninhibited ideas of the designer and the knowledge of an experienced workshop.
